Company Overview
Zayo Group is a provider of communications infrastructure services, including fiber and bandwidth connectivity, colocation, and cloud infrastructure. The company's primary customers include wireless and wireline carriers, media and content companies, government agencies, and large enterprises. Founded in 2007, Zayo grew rapidly through numerous acquisitions, building a vast fiber network across North America and Western Europe. After being publicly traded, the company was taken private in March 2020 by private equity firms EQT AB and Digital Colony (now DigitalBridge) in a deal valued at $14.3 billion. In 2024, Zayo announced the carve-out of its European business into a separate, standalone entity named Zayo Europe, which remains under the same ownership.
