Sales Development Representative
Generate qualified pipeline for our Mid-Market and Enterprise AEs across hedge funds, asset managers, and broker-dealers.

About the role
The SDR role is the front door for outbound at Caplight. You will run cold prospecting into hedge funds, asset managers, wealth platforms, broker-dealers, and corporate development teams to qualify accounts and book meetings for our Mid-Market and Enterprise AEs. These are firms that already need our data but do not yet know our name. We are hiring two SDR roles this quarter as we expand coverage in our highest-velocity segments.
What you will do
- Run 80+ multi-channel touches per day across email, phone, and LinkedIn into named accounts
- Build cold sequences in Hubspot and iterate weekly on subject lines, value props, and call cadence
- Research private-markets prospects using Caplight's own Company Database and Investor Database before outreach
- Qualify inbound leads from MarketPrice™ trials and signals product signups
- Hand off vetted opportunities to Mid-Market and Enterprise AEs with a clean intro and clear pain
- Hit a monthly meetings-set quota with a quality bar set by the AE who closes the deal
- Contribute to the playbook by flagging what is working in your segment so the next SDR ramps faster
What you will bring
- 0–2 years in a quota-carrying SDR or BDR role, ideally at a fintech or data company
- Comfortable with high-volume outbound and coachable on call-recording reviews
- Strong written voice; cold emails that sound like a thoughtful human, not a template
- Clear research instincts; you can tell a good-fit account from a bad-fit one inside five minutes
- Familiarity with Hubspot or a similar modern CRM and sequencing stack
- Track record of hitting monthly quota in a previous SDR role or comparable goal-driven position
- Curiosity about private markets; you have at least read a few headlines about secondaries
- Live in the SF Bay Area and ready to be in our SF office full-time from week one
Nice to have
- Internships or junior roles at a venture firm, secondary market broker, or wealth platform
- MEDDPICC or Force Management training
- Background in finance, economics, or a related quantitative field
- Fluency with Claude, Hubspot, Slack, Granola, and a modern sales stack
Compensation
Compensation is competitive with software sales, investment banking, and adjacent finance careers. We pay top-of-market for the role.
Specific base, OTE, and variable split are shared during the hiring manager phone screen and reflect level, experience, and interview performance.
