Avail is a web3 infrastructure project developing a modular blockchain layer designed to unify the blockchain ecosystem by addressing scalability, fragmentation, and interoperability. The project originated within Polygon Labs in 2020 and was spun out into an independent entity in March 2023, led by Polygon co-founder Anurag Arjun. Avail's architecture, referred to as the 'Unification Layer', consists of three core components: Avail DA (a data availability layer), Avail Nexus (an interoperability and verification hub), and Avail Fusion (a shared security layer). The platform is built to support various execution environments, enabling developers to create scalable, trust-minimized applications and sovereign rollups. By providing abundant and secure blockspace, Avail aims to create a more integrated and efficient experience for both developers and users across different blockchain networks.
