BayWa Venture GmbH

BayWa Venture GmbH is the corporate venture capital arm of BayWa AG, a global trading and services group. In February 2024, the firm was renamed AgriFoodTech Venture GmbH after forming an alliance with MULTIVAC and Bindewald + Gutting Mühlengruppe. BayWa AG remains the majority shareholder with a 51% stake. The firm functions as an early-stage investor and open innovation platform, focusing on investments in AgriFoodTech startups. Its investment areas include AgTech/BioTech, FoodTech (with a focus on alternative proteins), Circular Economy, and Automation & Digitalization. The existing portfolio of 12 companies was brought into the new alliance, with plans to expand to around 20 startups.
