The Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority (BFTDA) is a Pennsylvania state authority established to promote an entrepreneurial business environment and advance technology innovation. It is a leading source for technology strategy and funding in the state. The BFTDA funds the Ben Franklin Technology Partners (BFTP), a network of four regional centers that provide capital and support to early-stage technology companies and manufacturers. The Authority also operates the Venture Investment Program (VIP), which provides loans to venture capital funds to increase the availability of risk capital in the state.
