Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies (BREDS) is the real estate debt investment platform of Blackstone. Launched in 2008, it provides comprehensive financing solutions across the capital structure and risk spectrum, including originating loans and investing in debt securities. The strategy focuses on high-quality real estate and includes providing whole loans, mezzanine financing, and preferred equity. BREDS manages a series of funds, such as Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies V (BREDS V), and also manages Blackstone Mortgage Trust (NYSE: BXMT), a publicly-traded commercial mortgage REIT. The platform invests globally, primarily in North America and Europe, and focuses on lending for institutional-quality assets in supply-constrained markets.
