Browning the Green Space

Browning the Green Space (BGS) is a Massachusetts-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in the clean energy and climatetech sectors. Founded in 2020, its mission is to create jobs, build wealth, and reduce the energy burden in Black and Brown communities. BGS operates as an ecosystem builder, running programs for workforce development, business development, and community development. A key initiative is the Advancing Climatetech and Clean Energy Leaders (ACCEL) program, an accelerator run in partnership with Greentown Labs, which supports BIPOC-led startups with non-dilutive funding, mentorship, and resources.
