Deloitte Health Equity Institute
Overview
The Deloitte Health Equity Institute (DHEI) is a social impact initiative of Deloitte established to advance health equity. It is not a traditional investment fund but rather an entity dedicated to creating public good through a combination of philanthropic investments, pro bono services, community collaboration, and research. The institute's mission is to address the root causes of health inequities, such as racism and structural flaws in the health system, by supporting community-based organizations and collaborating with public, private, and social sector leaders. Since its founding, DHEI has provided $30 million in funding to over 50 collaborators. It is part of a broader 10-year, $1.5 billion social impact commitment by Deloitte focused on health equity, education, and financial inclusion. Deloitte has established several such institutes globally, including in the US, Africa, India, Europe, and Latin America.
