Energy & Environment Investment (EEI) is a venture capital and impact investment firm based in Tokyo, Japan. It is described as the only VC firm in Japan that specializes exclusively in the environment and energy sectors. The firm invests in startups with innovative technologies and business models that contribute to a sustainable society, focusing on areas such as energy transition, mobility, and smart societies. EEI was established as a joint venture between SBI Holdings and Mizuho Securities and was formerly known as Japan Energy Investment. It manages multiple funds, including its fifth fund established in 2022, to support the growth of companies that can create a global impact.
