ELY Centres (Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment)

A network of 15 regional government authorities in Finland responsible for the central government's regional implementation and development tasks. The centres promote regional competitiveness and development by providing advisory services and funding to enterprises, primarily in the form of grants, aid, and subsidies from national and EU structural funds. Their three main areas of responsibility are: Business and industry, labour force, and competence; Transport and infrastructure; and Environment and natural resources.
