Energising Development (EnDev)
Overview
Energising Development (EnDev) is a global energy access partnership program financed by multiple donor countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland. It promotes sustainable access to modern energy services for households, social institutions, and small to medium-sized enterprises in developing countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The program is coordinated and implemented primarily by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). EnDev uses a market-based approach, providing technical assistance, capacity building, and financial support through instruments like results-based financing (RBF) and grants to stimulate private sector delivery of energy solutions.
