Overview
The European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) is the European Union's main financial instrument for investing in people, supporting employment, and promoting economic and social cohesion. For the 2021-2027 period, it focuses on improving employment, education, skills, social inclusion, and reducing poverty. It merges the former European Social Fund (ESF), the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAD), the Youth Employment Initiative (YEI), and the EU Programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI). The fund is primarily managed by EU Member States in partnership with the European Commission.
