Overview
The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) is the official export credit agency (ECA) of the U.S. federal government. It is an independent Executive Branch agency with a mission to support American jobs by facilitating the export of U.S. goods and services. EXIM provides financing tools such as loans, guarantees, and insurance to assist U.S. companies, filling gaps when private sector lenders are unable or unwilling to provide financing. It is backed by the full faith and credit of the United States and assumes credit and country risks the private sector may not accept.
