Overview
The Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) is a nonprofit organization that brings together Georgia's research universities, business community, and state government to create opportunities to grow Georgia's economy through scientific discovery. Its mission is to turn university research and development into economic gains for the state. Founded in 1990, the alliance has three main investment programs: Eminent Scholars, Core Research Resources, and Technology Transfer. GRA also provides venture capital to companies with promising technologies, including ventures that have spun off from the research of the eminent scholars.
