It is equally owned by the governments of the six member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC): Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates . GIC was formed to foster economic growth, economic diversification, and capital markets development across the GCC region . The company engages in investing across various sectors, including heavy and light industries, utilities, telecom, financial services, food and agriculture, healthcare, oil and gas, logistics, and education . GIC's major services include principal investments aimed at long-term value creation and sustainable returns, as well as investments in GCC stocks, bonds, and funds .
