Harrington Discovery Institute

The Harrington Discovery Institute, part of The Harrington Project for Discovery & Development at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio, is a non-profit medical institute with a mission to accelerate promising scientific discoveries into medicines. Established in 2012, it utilizes a blended non-profit/for-profit model to support physician-scientists by providing grant funding and expert guidance to bridge the gap between laboratory research and commercialization. It invests in and helps develop new treatments for a range of diseases, with a focus on unmet needs. The institute has an Investment Advisory Board and partners with for-profit entities, such as the Advent-Harrington Impact Fund and BioMotiv, to advance its portfolio projects toward clinical trials and commercialization.
