Hamburger Sparkasse AG (Haspa) is Germany's largest savings bank, founded in 1827. It operates as a universal bank providing a wide range of financial services to private and corporate clients in the Hamburg metropolitan area. Haspa is an active investor in the startup ecosystem through its 'Haspa StartUp-Center', which provides financing, particularly debt capital, to new businesses. It also has a private banking division for asset management and a subsidiary, Haspa BGM, which invests in medium-sized companies. The bank is wholly owned by HASPA Finanzholding.
