The Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU)
Overview
The Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU) is Denmark's development finance institution (DFI), owned by the Danish state. Established in 1967, it provides risk capital and advisory services to private sector companies in developing countries and emerging markets across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and parts of Europe. Investments are made on commercial terms through equity, loans, and guarantees with the objective of promoting economic and social development, and supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals. IFU's prioritized sectors include Green Energy & Infrastructure, Financial Services, Sustainable Food Systems, and Healthcare. It also acts as a fund manager for several public-private funds, such as the Danish SDG Investment Fund.
