Overview
Japan Investment Corporation (JIC) is a Japanese sovereign wealth fund established in September 2018 under the Industrial Competitiveness Enhancement Act. Its mission is to generate a virtuous cycle of risk capital to support next-generation industries and enhance Japan's industrial competitiveness through open innovation. JIC supplies risk capital by investing in its subsidiary funds (such as JIC Capital and JIC Venture Growth Investments) and as a Limited Partner in other private funds. Its investment focus includes deep tech, life sciences, startups, and business consolidation. As of March 2024, it had total assets of ¥1.85 trillion.
