Overview

Kría is a state-backed fund of funds owned by the Icelandic government. Its mandate is to invest as a Limited Partner (LP) in specialized venture capital funds operating in Iceland to strengthen the financing environment for local startups and early-stage companies. The initiative was announced in 2019 and became formally operational in 2021. In 2022, plans were announced to merge Kría with The New Business Venture Fund (Nýsköpunarsjóður atvinnulífsins - NSA).
