Lumina Foundation

Lumina Foundation is an independent, private foundation that is committed to making opportunities for learning beyond high school available to all. It is the largest philanthropy in the United States focused solely on this mission. While its primary function is grantmaking, the foundation also engages in impact investing through its arm, Lumina Impact Ventures (LIV). This initiative makes direct equity investments in early-stage, for-profit companies developing services and products that align with the foundation's goal of increasing postsecondary credential attainment, particularly for students of color and other underserved populations. The foundation also operates as an LP, investing in venture capital funds.
