Maine Venture Fund

A state-sponsored, revolving "evergreen" venture capital fund that invests exclusively in Maine-based companies with high growth potential. Created by the Maine Legislature in 1995, the fund's mission is to contribute to the prosperity of Maine by filling the financing gap for early and growth-stage companies. It operates as a professionally managed fund and was capitalized with $19.5 million. The fund also has the authority to invest in other privately managed venture capital funds.
