U.S. Marine Corps

The U.S. Marine Corps is a branch of the United States Armed Forces responsible for conducting expeditionary and amphibious operations. While not a traditional investment firm, it provides non-dilutive funding to small businesses for research and development (R&D) through contracts and grants. This is done to stimulate technological innovation and acquire new technologies that meet critical military needs, often through federal programs such as the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR), and the Rapid Innovation Fund (RIF).
