Overview

Emergent Ventures is a fellowship and grant program run by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. Launched in 2018 and administered by economist Tyler Cowen, the program supports individuals and projects with highly scalable, "zero to one" ideas for improving society. It seeks to fund high-risk, high-reward "moonshots" that advance prosperity, opportunity, and well-being, and supports both non-profit and for-profit ventures. The program was initiated with a grant from the Thiel Foundation.
