Overview
MIT Solve is an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) that functions as a marketplace for social impact innovation. It runs annual "Global Challenges" to identify and select tech-based social entrepreneurs, known as 'Solver teams'. Selected teams receive prize funding and enter a nine-month support program that provides mentorship and access to a network of partners to help scale their impact. In addition to awarding grants and prize money, Solve makes debt and equity investments in for-profit Solver teams through a philanthropic venture vehicle called the Solve Innovation Fund (now known as Solve Innovation Future).
