Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) is a Japanese multimodal transportation company that engages in strategic investments through its corporate venture capital (CVC) arms. These include 'MOL PLUS', established in 2021, which focuses on early to middle-stage startups in shipping, logistics, and environmental sectors, and 'MOL Switch', established in 2023, which invests in decarbonization technologies. The investment in Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) was made through MOL Switch as part of a consortium. MOL's CVCs aim to create synergies by combining startup innovations with the MOL Group's resources to generate new value for the shipping industry and society.
