Overview

The Nordic Development Fund (NDF) is the joint multilateral development finance institution of the five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Established in 1989, its operations focus on the nexus between climate change and development in lower-income countries and countries in fragile situations. NDF provides financing for climate mitigation and adaptation projects through grants, concessional loans, and equity, often in cooperation with other bilateral and multilateral development institutions. A 2023 report mentioned an active portfolio of EUR 359.3 million.
