Overview
The Nebraska Public Service Commission (PSC) is a constitutionally created state executive body that regulates various public utilities and services, including telecommunications, natural gas, and railroads. While its primary role is regulatory, it also oversees and administers several statutorily created funds, such as the Nebraska Universal Service Fund (NUSF), the 911 Service System Fund, and the Nebraska Broadband Bridge Program. Through these funds, the PSC awards grants and distributes funding to private companies to deploy and sustain broadband and other telecommunications infrastructure in unserved and underserved areas of the state.
