Overview
The New York State Teachers' Retirement System (NYSTRS) is one of the ten largest public pension funds in the United States. Established in 1921, it provides retirement, disability, and death benefits for public school teachers and administrators throughout New York State, excluding New York City. As a long-term investor, NYSTRS manages a globally diversified portfolio across various asset classes, including public equities, fixed income, private equity, and real estate.
