Overview
The Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The City of Calgary, created in 2018 to be a catalyst for transformative investments that grow and diversify the city's economy, create jobs, and spur a wide range of private, non-profit and public sector investments. It is administered by Calgary Economic Development and governed by an independent Board of Directors. The fund supports projects and companies in strategic sectors that are innovative and provide economic benefits to Calgary. It also invests in other venture funds, such as its $4 million investment in Thin Air Labs Fund I.
