Overview
Power Finance Corporation (PFC) is an Indian government-owned Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) registered with the RBI as an Infrastructure Finance Company. It holds the distinguished 'Maharatna' status and operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power. PFC's primary role is to provide financing to the Indian power sector, including generation, transmission, and distribution projects. It has expanded its financing activities to other infrastructure areas with backward linkages to the power sector, such as coal mine development, fuel transportation, and more recently, electric mobility, including EV fleets and charging infrastructure. The company provides funding through products like term loans, debt refinancing, and lease financing.
