Points of Light

Points of Light is a global nonprofit organization focused on volunteerism and civic engagement. It operates the Points of Light Civic Accelerator (also known as CivicX), which is an accelerator program and investment fund for early-stage "civic ventures". This program supports both for-profit and nonprofit startups that include people as part of the solution to critical social problems. The accelerator runs a 10-week boot camp-style program and provides $50,000 investments to two peer-selected ventures at the conclusion of each cohort. For-profit companies receive the investment as convertible debt, while non-profits receive it as a revenue share agreement.
