Overview
The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) is a quasi-judicial regulatory body within the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. It is responsible for regulating the rates and services of Connecticut's investor-owned electricity, natural gas, water, and telecommunication companies. In addition to its regulatory function, PURA administers grant programs such as the 'Innovative Energy Solutions' program, which funds projects aimed at creating a decarbonized, affordable, and equitable electric grid. An example is the grant awarded to AmpUp in December 2023 to develop an EV charging management platform.
