Sony Startup Acceleration Program
Overview
The Sony Startup Acceleration Program (SSAP) is an initiative by Sony Group Corporation that began in 2014 to foster innovation. Initially an internal incubator for employee ideas, the program has expanded to support external startups and organizations. SSAP provides comprehensive support services from ideation and business modeling to commercialization and expansion. It operates accelerator programs that offer mentorship and may provide investment of approximately €50,000 in exchange for equity to selected startups. The program is distinct from but collaborates with the Sony Innovation Fund, Sony's corporate venture capital arm, by providing support to its portfolio companies.
