Texas Enterprise Fund
Overview
The Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) is a state-funded financial incentive program that awards "deal-closing" cash grants to companies considering a new project in Texas for which the company is also considering sites in other states. The fund serves as a performance-based incentive for companies whose projects are projected to contribute significant capital investment and create new employment opportunities in the state. Awards are contingent on meeting targets for job creation and wages, and must be unanimously approved by the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of the House. It is administered by the Economic Development and Tourism division of the Office of the Governor.
