Overview
Transforming Energy Access (TEA) is a research and innovation platform funded by the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) that supports early-stage testing and scale-up of innovative technologies and business models to accelerate access to clean energy in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. It is the primary platform for delivering the £1 billion UK Ayrton Fund. TEA provides various forms of capital, including grants and debt, and is delivered through partners such as the Carbon Trust, Innovate UK, and Shell Foundation.
