Its investment objective is to maximize shareholder returns by identifying and investing in compelling long-term investments worldwide where the underlying value is not fully recognized. The company has a wide investment mandate, investing in various sectors including utility, infrastructure, financial services, technology, and resources, and holds both listed and unlisted securities. UIL was established as a successor to Utilico Investment Trust plc and is managed by ICM Investment Management Limited and ICM Limited.
