Discovery Capital Funding

Discovery Capital is an early-stage, matching equity investment program sponsored by the University of Minnesota's Research & Innovation Office. It provides equity investments to startups built around licensed UMN technologies, co-investing alongside experienced Venture Capitalists to reduce early-stage risk and accelerate commercialization. The program's goals include strengthening the university's startup ecosystem, increasing the commercialization of UMN research, and driving economic impact in Minnesota. The program requires startups to have a lead investor before it provides matching funds.
