Community Business Launch

A place-based entrepreneurial development program run by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). The program is designed to fill vacant storefronts with start-up or expanding businesses by providing training and awarding grant funding through local business plan competitions. The initial investment noted was part of the "Virginia Velocity Tour," a similar business plan competition and grant program held in 2016 as a partnership between the Commonwealth of Virginia and Village Capital.
