A Swiss foundation established in 1918 that aims to promote technology transfer from Swiss universities and research laboratories into industry. It provides early-stage, interest-free loans (seed money) of up to CHF 150,000 to young entrepreneurs and university graduates to help them develop research-based business ideas to a stage where they can apply for venture capital. The foundation supports the critical preliminary phase, including assessing the business idea, market, and competition, and creating a business plan. It has supported numerous high-tech startups, including Kandou Technologies.
