National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences

The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) is one of 27 institutes and centers of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). Its mission is to transform scientific discoveries into new treatments and cures for disease that can be delivered faster to patients. The center focuses on what is common across diseases and the translational process, studying it as a scientific and operational problem. NCATS provides funding and resources through grants, prize competitions, and collaborations with the public and private sectors to reduce, remove, or bypass bottlenecks in the translational research pipeline.
