Unitary Foundation

Unitary Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to creating a quantum technology ecosystem that benefits the most people. It pursues this mission through two main programs: a microgrant program that provides small cash grants (typically $4,000) to support open-source quantum technology projects worldwide, and Unitary Labs, an in-house research team that develops public goods and open-source tools like Mitiq for quantum error mitigation and Metriq for benchmarking. The organization was founded in 2018 by William Zeng and rebranded from Unitary Fund to Unitary Foundation in early 2025 to reflect its expanded scope beyond just grant-making.
