Velocity Health Tech Fund

The Velocity Health Tech Fund is a venture capital fund launched in February 2020 by the University of Waterloo's Velocity incubator. It was created to provide pre-seed funding to early-stage health technology startups, typically awarding $50,000 to winners of a pitch competition. The fund is part of the broader Velocity program, which is a startup incubator for students, alumni, staff, and faculty of the University of Waterloo. The fund reached its initial goal of $1 million USD shortly after its launch. In 2023, a broader initiative called Velocity Health was launched to continue supporting the health-tech sector.
