Winbond Electronics Corporation is a Taiwan-based semiconductor company founded in 1987. Its primary business is the design, development, manufacture, and marketing of integrated circuits, including specialty DRAM and Flash Memory. While its main function is as an operating company, Winbond also acts as a strategic investor in other companies. A 2012 press release mentioned the merger of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Win Investment Corporation, with other investment firms to integrate group resources and develop its asset management business.
